Recipe Notebook and Manager

#pratododia (“dish of the day”) is your recipe notebook: add and import recipes, plan menus and events, create shopping lists by store section and make a recipe book in PDF. It works offline; your data stays in a .pratododia file.

1Getting started

  • New collection: give it a name (for example “Family recipes”); the collection opens empty, with all categories ready.
  • Open existing collection: choose the .pratododia file; recipes, photos, categories, menus, events, lists and settings come back as they were. If you only closed the browser, use Continue.
  • Save (Ctrl+S): the first time, choose the folder and the name; afterwards it writes to the same file. The orange dot warns that there are unsaved changes.
  • To explore, use View with sample recipes on the start screen (the sample recipes are in Portuguese).

2Recipes

  • New recipe: name, categories (a recipe can have several), ingredients (one by one or Paste list — the program separates quantity, unit and name), preparation (one step per line), photo and notes.
  • Open the recipe and use Edit; the three-dot button archives, deletes (with Undo) or duplicates.
  • Make the recipe several times: enter 1, 2, 5, 10, 50… and the quantities are recalculated.
  • Search and filter: by name, ingredients, categories and quick filters (vegan, breakfast…). Advanced search looks for ingredient, quantity, calories, protein, carbohydrates and yield.

3Importing

Import recipes from PDF (with text), DOCX, TXT, ODT and RTF — one file at a time or several at once. Check the preview, uncheck what you do not want and tap Import. Recipes arrive with the “check” mark.

The importer recognizes recipes written in Portuguese (words such as “Ingredientes” and “Modo de preparo” and Brazilian units). Recipes in other languages may need manual adjustment.
A PDF made of photos or scanned pages has no text to read. Use the original file from the text editor or type the recipe.

4Menus and events

  • Weekly, fortnightly or monthly menu, with breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. Tap + to choose recipes or Generate automatically (uses each meal's categories). In the month view, drag recipes onto the days.
  • Events (birthday, party, barbecue…): name, type, date, place, recipes and how many times each one will be made.

5Shopping list

In Shopping › New list, choose the source: menu, event, recipes or blank list. Identical ingredients are added up (500 g + 300 g of flour become 800 g) and separated by section: Produce, Butcher, Bakery, Dairy, Grocery and Other. Check what you bought; print or export to PDF.

6Recipe book in PDF

In Recipe book, choose the recipes (all, by category or one by one), the cover (automatic or custom), the table of contents with page numbers (clickable in the PDF), the back cover, the fonts, the orientation, the margins and the numbering, and tap Create the book in PDF.

7Phone and computer

On the computer, open it in the browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari). On Android, open it in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. To take it to another device, copy your .pratododia file and use Open existing collection. The program's Guide (in the Help group) explains each screen.

8Inside the Nebulosa Workspace

  • Help menu: in the menu, the Help group has: User manual, In-program guide, Terms of use, Privacy, Credits and licenses, 🌐 Language and About #pratododia (version and logo). The manual and the legal pages open in a window inside the program itself (you can switch between them with the buttons at the top of the window; Esc closes it).
  • Open #pratododia from the side menu, from its card on the home page or from the search (Alt + K).
  • The Appearance button at the top of the Workspace switches #pratododia's look between its original look and Nebulosa Default (purple, navy blue, orange and yellow). The choice applies only to this program and is remembered.
  • The Language button (🌐) at the top of the Workspace — or Help › 🌐 Language inside the program — switches the menus and texts between Português do Brasil (the default), English and Español. The choice applies to all programs and is remembered. Your recipes are not translated.
  • If you close #pratododia's tab with changes not yet saved to a file, the Workspace asks before closing.
  • The shortcuts Alt + 1…9 and Alt + 0 (home) work even with the focus inside the program.
  • #pratododia also opens on its own, outside the Workspace, at its folder's address (for example …/apps/pratododia/) or from the single HTML file.
